THE ABOMINABLE CRIME (2013) - ♦♦♦

Directed by - Micah Fink

"The Abominable Crime essentially looks at the anti-gay culture of Jamaica, and follows the parallel stories of a mother forced in exile to one day see her child again and LGBT political activist Maurice Tomlinson, whose fight for gay rights puts his life on the line every day.

While it is certainly a fascinating and powerful subject, and much praise can go to filmmaker Micah Fink for getting so close to such touching stories relating to the wider subject of LGBT rights, the film itself lack skill in balancing its prominent stories, hence diminishing their overall effect and representative power."
