Matt Micucci: The dialogue seems very real. Was improvisation encouraged?

Salone Blechmans: [...] Djinn with his last feature invented a scheme of improvisation, where there is a script but the actors don't know it and only know about their characters' past and tribulations. So, when the scene begins, the actors know exactly what emotions they have to go through. They can choose their own words, but the patterns are very precise [...]

MM: Obviously realism was very important to you.

Djinn Carrénard: Yeah, I wanted to shoot the film like a war reporter, because I really see the couple like having some sort of private war. [...]

MM: You shot the film in a very particular way...

SB: We had two cameras, Djinn and I and we shot every scene in two different ways. And we were challenging each other to create a very different image from each other [...] So the point of views on the scenes are always different. [...]

DC: At sometime you can see a little frame in the image because I am one of the few filmmakers that still uses the Mini 35, and that gives you a more handcraft feeling. [...]

MM: This adds a feeling of nostalgia

DC: Because our generation is very nostalgic, even of times that we never knew. Everyone has their little 8mm app on their phones to shoot their videos. So, sometimes with these little things you can really see that the nostalgic things is artificial. That is when you have to go back to the handcraft things to have some genuine nostalgia on the camera. That's why we worked the image the way we did.
