"Three different episodes make up the narrative of the film ISLAND CITY, the feature directorial debut by Indian director RUCHIKA OBEROI, all representing the drag of modern life in modern day India in different styles and tones that span from the colourful satirical and comedic to a documentary like bleakness. 

The film shows some creativity, but alas, after starting off on a high with the creativity and energy of the episode involving a statistics worker who reluctantly follows order from his bosses to have fun by following their precise instructions, dies a slow and progressive death."
