"Black humour is more or less always present in the vast majority of Hitchcock’s work. With The Trouble With Harry, the British filmmaker and celebrated master of suspense lets this side of his filmmaking personality loose and has a little fun in this black comedy with elements of thriller about the strangeness surrounding the burying of a corpse. There is a lot of cleverness and satire in this comedy, yet its preciousness outweighs the intelligence and gets in the way of the fun. In the end, The Trouble with Harry feels disappointingly shallow. On the plus side, it was the impressive debut of a certain Shirley MacLaine."
