FRED Film Radio interview with Isabell Suba and Anna Haug on MEN SHOW MOVIES AND WOMEN THEIR BREAST

Before the interview, I mentioned to director Isabell Suba that I thought this film was quite rebellious. After all, she takes on the less talked about side of film festivals and the film industry by using the example of the Cannes Film Festival

Her provocatively titled mockumentary Men Show Movies and Women Their Breast is a very interesting experience. After one of Suba's shorts was picked for the short film competition at arguably the biggest, most glamorous and most talked about film festival in the world, the German filmmaker decided to make the most out of the experience and shoot a film at it. So, she sent actress to the festival and filmed her as if she were the director. The end result is a half truth half fiction documentary about the less glamorous side of film festivals, but also the film industry, as we see not only the disappointment experienced by young filmmakers at their beginnings, but also the sexual discrimination that plagues it.

I interviewed director of the film Isabell Suba and actress Anna Haug for FRED Film Radio at the 31st Torino Film Festival where the film was presented in the After Hours section. To listen to the interview, click here.
