24/7/2014 - 71st Venice Film Festival programme unveiled

Following the announcements of the programmes of this year's Venice Days (Giornate degli Autori) and International Critics' Week (Settimana Internazionale della Critica) it was time for festival director Alberto Barbera and his crew to unveil this year's Venice Film Festival programme.

The oldest international film festival in the world, the 71st since its existance, has revealed an exciting programme that includes big names and interesting titles. The programme, as per usual, is split up into four sections. All the titles in the main competition are world premieres. Then, there are films in the official selection that will not be part of the competition. The Orizzonti selection aims to represent the latest aesthetic and expressive trends in international cinema. Then there is the Venice Classics section, with restored films and documentaries on cinema.

(Note: the International Critics's Week and Venice Days work as autonomous parallel sections of the Venice Film Festival. This list does not include short films.)
