"Vincent Hanna and Neil McCauley have a lot in common, though one is a detective on the trail of the other; and though the latter knows that the cops are closing in to on him, he still decides to go on one last dangerous bank job. Michael Mann’s film is quite simply one of the best cops and robbers film ever made, and its intensity is simply remarkable. Not only is the action gripping and exciting, but the film unfolds at a very entertaining and consistent pace, and never disregards a rewarding emotional aspect, with every character adding to the value of the structure of the narrative. Heat, of course, is also interpreted by Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro, two of the greatest actors to ever grace the big screen, and it is in this film that the two share the screen for the same time, with two excellent performances."
